The Harrington G9 Jacket from Baracuta
Baracuta started making the famous G9 jacket in the 1930s. In the fifties the company -expanded into America which helped Baracuta hit the silver screen.
Elvis Presley popularised the G9 when he wore it in his 1958 movie ‘King Creole’ while Frank Sinatra wears his G9 in the 1966 move ‘Assault on a Queen’.
Steve McQueen, was also an avid fan of the G9 and was photographed wearing it on the front cover of Life Magazine and in his 1968 movie ‘The Thomas Crown Affair’.
On the 70th birthday of Baracuta in 2007, the company celebrated by releasing three special edition G9s with quotes by Steve McQueen, Elvis Presley & Frank Sinatra, printed on the lining.
Baracuta continues dressing icons and legends. Liam Gallagher, Blur stars Damon Albarn and Graham Coxon, Razorlight, Jamie T and Pete Doherty have all worn the famous G9 Harrington Jacket in recent times.
